Back in April Dominic and I went on our Engagement Photoshoot with the brilliant Julia (Julia & You).
Ever since I met Julia 9 years ago, I knew that she was going to be my Wedding Photographer. And I’ve never thought otherwise.
As you will shortly see, Julia has such an amazing eye for detail when photographing. As well as creates the most beautiful photographs of couples, whilst capturing very special moments.
I knew she would capture Dominic and my Big Day exactly how we would want it to remember.
And so before the Best Day of our lives would arrive, Julia asked us to come and do an Engagement Shoot.
We were invited to pick a location of our choice, and spend a couple of hours posing for photos. We are really happy we did this, because we got to know how Julia works. Plus discover what it’s like to be in front of a camera with each other.
I must admit, it was a tad awkward at first, but before long Dominic and I were at ease, and really enjoying ourselves. To the extend you forget you are being photographed.
It was also a brilliant way to get to see how Julia works, and what types of styled photographs we would want for our Wedding ones.
Into the Bluebell Woods
Dominic and I chose a stunning outdoor wood location based in Codicote, Hertfordshire, that is a stone’s throw away drive from us.
It was a personal choice to capture what means the most to us; walking the dog in the beautiful British Countryside, whilst spending time with one another. Talking, laughing, and having fun; which is what we try and make time for in our relationship.
This Bluebell Woodland also has a little story behind it, because it was initially the place that Dominic was going to Propose to me. Sadly this didn’t happen, because it was the wrong time of year.
Instead he proposed whilst we were out on another dog walk that we love to do. Where there are two beautiful trees side by side, standing together amongst the flat farmland. It’s a route I take whilst out running, and now has such a wonderful meaning everytime I see them.
However, not forgetting about the Bluebells; instead we got to go back to celebrate our Engagement. And get to see the beautiful Bluebells literally carpet the whole of the Woodland floor.
Dominic and I (and Bailey Dog) had such a wonderful morning spent with Julia for our Engagement Photoshoot.
I can’t wait to see and share our Wedding Photographs.
For the time being, make sure you check out Julia’s beautiful website and Portfolio. She really is an extremely talented Wedding Photographer, and we couldn’t be more happy with every photograph she has produced.
