Do you ever look at your windows and wonder; how to clean your roller blinds?
Call me OCD but I love to get my cleaning game on in my own home.
I particularly do love a good ‘Spring Clean’ at any time of the year where every part of my home gets a good spruce up to make the home shine, smell better and generally feel a lot brighter.
There’s also a great sense of fulfillment after a day of cleaning that I know that everywhere around is lovely and fresh.
One interior accesssory in my home that does (sometimes) get over looked are my roller blinds. And do you know what, they are really easy to clean…I don’t know why I don’t do it more often.
Roller Blinds are a great interior window treatment to create a minimal style in your window area, but can get a little dusty, and sometimes dirty from time to time.
…Which is all normal wear and tear from this home décor product.
And to help you I have made an easy step-by-step guide to share, where you can clean your own roller blinds within 5-10 minutes.
Here are my top tips on how to clean your roller blinds:
1: Lower your roller blind down to full length.
2: With your handheld hoover clean your roller blind all over from any dust residue.
3: With a clean dust cloth wipe over your roller blind for any excess dust your hoover may have missed.
Top Tip: Microfiber cloths are the best type of dusting, as it collects dust rather than spread it.
4: Using a damp cloth wash over your roller blind in the areas that need a deeper clean.
Top Tip: Mix a warm bowl of water mixed with (eco-friendly) washing up liquid to help with your cleaning.
5: If your roller blind needs, use a small amount of stain remover on the areas that are more difficult to clean.
6: Let your roller blind air dry.
7: Once dry; lightly dust over your roller blind one more time with your hoover and/or dusting cloth.
8: Repeat each stage again when/where necessary.
To make life a little easier for you, I have also put together a Roller Blind Cleaning Check List, which is ready for you to download here.
Call me biased but I do love a roller blind. I have the Laura Felicity Roller Blinds installed in my own home, on pretty much every window except in our bathroom.
For me it’s when the weather is rubbish to look at outside at any time of year, all you need to do is roll down your blind and at least then you have something beautiful and uplifting to look at.
That’s what I love about having patterned roller blinds in our window areas.
Each roller blind in my collection is custom made to suit your window space, and ideal for disguising the outside world.
Window Blinds in general have many other brilliant benefits as well, which you can read from my previous blog post;
