Two years ago, we moved into our first house, which we knew would be a project within itself to do up, and make our home.
Needless to say, we would have liked to have got on further with it in within the first year of us moving in. However that was never the case.
What with work for both of us being very busy, along with the scale of the projects we had in mind, meant we didn’t have time aside to focus on the projects.

We did however manage to get our ceilings re-plastered in the Summer last year. As well as having a new combi-boiler installed, a made to measure bedroom wardrobe and new fencing put in our garden this year. (posts coming soon!) Which were all just the start of it.

This Summer…

We have taken on a huge task to refurbish and decorate our whole house; from head to toe, because we both have time and dedication to make this happen this year.
The first part of the house we wanted to really focus on was the Kitchen Refurbishment Project. Because it was very dated, as well as really was in need of some TLC.

(Before photos, as we moved in!)

During the first half of this year we have been looking at styles of kitchens we really wanted, that could work within our budget we set ourselves. Plus, really focusing on how we could maximise the space in the kitchen, because it’s only small.
When we moved in there were no drawers to put cutlery of utensils in, cupboard space was very lax. And as you can see the choice of colours was very interesting to say the least.
Please let me tell you, as soon as we moved in, we white washed every wall, and got rid off all things wooden.
After copious amounts of research, and quotes from different companies; B&Q, Wren Kitchen and Howdens, we decided to actually source everything ourselves. This would make the perfect kitchen decor and storage space we wanted.

Two weeks ago…

We began to rip out the whole of the kitchen. Along with taking up the very dated laminate flooring for work to begin on the new installment.
Two weeks in, the kitchen is still begin completed. However, we are very close to it being finished, and we can move onto putting together the finishing touches.
For now, here is what has been happening to our little home in Bedfordshire. With plenty more updates, top tips, how to’s to come.
I hope you enjoy coming along for the journey with me during our Kitchen Refurbishment Project.
