Laura Felicity Design’s Hallway Home Design Project

A hallway is the first part of your home your guests see, and I believe it’s important to make it a welcoming space.
And the beautiful Pretty Flower wallpaper is a perfect example for really making a statement to our hallway entrance.

Hallway Home Design Project
In September 2016 I wrote about the Home Design Project I was about to start, because me and my other half moved into our first home together.
We have lived in our new home for a while now. Getting used to the space, the light, everyday living and our routine within the house.
Three months have passed, and it’s now time let the decorating commence.
We feel we have been here long enough to start putting our own stamp on the place. To make it our home.
I’ve set myself a target to get our Hallway Home Design Project going.
As well as start on the Living Room, ready for Christmas involving Laura Felicity Design’s Get The Look decorating ideas.
Hallway Home Design Project
We have a small entrance hallway, which is a great area for keeping walking boots, the dog lead, jackets etc.
It’s also an area that I want to make a great first impression with, for those coming into our home.
First of all, I will use features of the hallway to focus on this. Including the window sill, shoe storage area, and the coat hooks.

In addition, a problem we have is the space of our Hallway. It’s limiting and small. Plus it’s dark, because of a very small spot light feature in the ceiling.
This is where colours and lighting plays a part to make this space feel larger, and a little more spacious than it is.
Looking at light painted walls, plus potentially painting the window and door frame work white, will instantly lift the darkness.
A pendant light feature would also create more light, because the whole light bulb will be on display to shine throughout the hallway.

Another issue with the the hallway is it’s a cold area. Especially with the Winter months coming.
Made To Measure Laura Felicity Design blinds for the (single glazed) window and door, would really help keep the warmth in, rather than curtains.
Furthermore, not taking up any unnecessary space that we can’t afford to lose. Which curtains would play a part in.
I can’t wait to show you how this Hallway Home Design Project gets transformed over the next month.

In the meantime, is there a Laura Felicity Design product or pattern you keep thinking to decorate with?
It would be lovely to help you get your home looking beautiful for the Christmas Season and into 2017; from small tips to redecorating projects.
